Panel Member, The Café

Nicole Sherer is a small-town storyteller at heart, shaped by her upbringing in Woodbine, IA (population 1,500), where she was involved in just about everything her school had to offer. Many hours of volunteering and working at the local nursing home deepened her love for listening to people’s stories and learning about the past. Passionate about history and social justice, Nicole is currently a junior at Graceland University majoring in English, History, and Transformational Leadership, with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She serves as House President for Khiyah and fills her schedule with involvement across campus – because one thing about Nicole is that she loves to stay busy.

Nicole spends her college summers working as the Summer Program Director at the Community of Christ campground in Onset, MA, where she has developed a deep love for the church and coastal New England. When she does slow down, Nicole enjoys reading, crafting, or spending time with her beloved dog. After graduating from Graceland, she plans to attend graduate school for a dual degree in Public Affairs and Library and Information Sciences, driven by her deep commitment to public institutions, access to education, and the belief that diverse stories matter.
